Iraqi Good - A non-official measure of how well something is done; Iraqi Good is the same as American bad.
The Wire - The physical outer-boundary (often barbwire) of a base. If you break the wire you do combat missions, if you don't break the wire you're a fobbit and the only combat you see is on CNN.
Yahoo - A local. I came up with this one because it is fun to say and puts a small smile on the face of war.
High-speed - Anything or anyone that is reliable, intelligent and productive. Did I mention the internet is not high-speed over here?
Barnyard Pimp - Fried Chicken. I don't think this is exclusivly a military saying, it's missing curse words.
MRE - Meal Ready to Eat. Or, Meal Ready to Excrete.
Terp - Interpreter. They know most english, but have mastered all the curse words. Cultural exchange at work.
MWR - Military Wacky & Random, I made that up. It's where soldiers can use computers (when working), watch TV (and annoying military commercials), use phones ..........................................................(with a 3 second delay) or access other various recreational activities (like rock polishing, I did not make that up).
Musket - The long version of the M16 rifle. Indicates you are a Fobbit, or freakishly tall like myself.
CHU - Contained Housing Unit. It's a mini-storage-like room that we live in.
Hadji (hah-gee) - Locals, or anyone not from the states. Can also be used as an adjective, as in, 'Man that piece-of-crap poorly constructed building is hadji'.
IED - Improvised Explosive Device (AKA - roadside bomb). AKA - it sucks.
Black Water - Think of the sweetest most pleasure-filled aroma imaginable...it's the exact opposite of that, and it flows like a chocolate puke-river down the streets of Mesopatamia. Now that's hadji-riffic!
DFAC - Dining FACility, but also the sound your body makes after eating there.
The 'F' Word - Used at least once in all conversating here, if not exclusively. Very flexible word that is utilized as an adjective, noun, verb, pronoun, puncuation, number, color, sound etc..
FOB - Foward Operating Base. See 'Fobbit'.
Soccerball - Soccerball. If you have one your a pimp. I threw one from my turret to a crowd of innocent looking 6 year-olds fresh from school. The riot that insued put South-Central L.A. to shame.
LES - Leave and Earnings Statement (AKA Pay-stub). It's funny all by itself.
Fobbit - People who never leave the base. Like a Hobbit except not as adventurous.
Sh#tbag - People who avoid doing any work. So lazy that they might actually deficate in a bag to avoid having to get up.
ACU - Army Combat Uniform. Designed for any environment, except an all-velcro one in which GI's will be stuck to the things, like so many flies to a spiders web.
